She could be from anywhere in the world, but her accent gives her away. She is a hueso colorado (passionate) northerner with talent and elegance. A painter originally from the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Monterrey, (UDEM). From the start she has dedicated herself to finding her own artistic language, experimenting with photography, painting and sculpture, among others. She continued her studies at the San Carlos Academy with a postgraduate degree in oil painting techniques and sculptural ceramics; and has held collective exhibitions in Belgium, Spain and Monterrey.
Lucy also has a master’s degree in art and theater therapy and worked as an art therapist in Spain for 2 years. She has always had a penchant for feminine themes and although she is very aware of her female delicacy, she also knows her own force with which she breaks paradigms. One of her particular interests has to do with the associations of menstruating cycles with the phases of the moon, and the seasons of the year. She is aware that femininity is what connects us with mother earth and these are precisely the themes of her work.
