Galería Calderoni located within iconic design center Fabrica La Aurora, is featuring new artwork by emerging artists. This exhibition is something very new and fresh. A group of selected artists were invited by Merry Calderoni and Maru Vazquez, who curated this show. Both women are artists with great trajectories of their own, working together to bring the newest art proposals to San Miguel de Allende.
Their opening exhibition will take place on Saturday, Feb 5, hope to see you there.
Participant Artists Emerging Artists Exhibition:
1. Angella Zuniga Holguin. A contemporary sculptress who works in steel, stainless steel, wood, ceramic, and bronze. Queretaro.
2. Estefania Mongrell. Visual artist specializing in contemporary landscapes in large formats. San Miguel.
3. Francesca Morrigi. Ceramicist creating large format yet elegant, hand modeled, delicate pieces, with extravagant use of glazes. Cancun.
4. Jennifer Gray. Painter, contemporary figurative works, and textures. San Miguel.
5. Lizzie Castillon. Sculptress creating contemporary works in various media: stone, metals, and clays. Mexico City.
6. Lucia Garza Marcos. Visual abstract artist. A painter portraying the feminine and nature in large format. Monterrey.
Calderoni Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday 11am–5pm. Along with the featured artists you’ll find Calderoni’s own work– her line of scarfs featuring her art printed on silk; twentieth century vintage prehispanic reproduction sculptures; and jewelry line Lunática.
We aim to continue making San Miguel a place where art in all its expressions is promoted and developed. Your support allows young artists to continue creating and growing.
