The National Electoral Institute (INE) of Guanajuato invites citizens to fulfill their electoral registration obligations, during the Intensive Annual Campaign (CAI) that began on September 1, and ends on December 15 of this year.
Verónica Fabiola González Gamiño, is a member of the Federal Electoral Registry. She explained that each year the INE renews this campaign, to guide people through the proper procedures of updating their voter registration status. She indicated that one of the most important aspect of the CAI campaign, is the renewal of voting credentials. The credentials are valid for one year and must be updated annually. According to the most recent accounting, there are 134,386 individuals whose registration is current and up to date. She also indicated that the registrations of 96,797 individuals, expired at the end of 2021. All of them must update their registration by January 1, 2023 as they will no longer be valid as a means of personal identification.
She also explained that during the current CAI campaign, the hours of the MAC’s will be extended, and operational capacity will be increased. During this period, Mexican citizens will be able to carry out the following procedures:
– Registration to the Electoral Register
– Credential renewal
– Address change
– Replacement due to loss, theft or deterioration
– Correction of personal or home data
– Delivery of the credential to vote
