The Mexican Constitution is 106 years old. It is the successor of previous constitutions. Its formal proclamation in 1917 contributed to great social, political and economic changes in Mexico. Dr. Óscar Pulido invites us to reflect; “Throughout this time, we must analyze the Constitution from three important aspects: the historical question, the social struggle and the legal part, because it is through these that changes have occurred. It must be remembered that the Constitution is the highest-ranking legal system in the country.”

Today they prepare tamales!

Those who on January 6 found the “muñequito” in their delicious slice of rosca de Reyes cake, became the «godparents of the Christ doll.» They are now responsible for tamales on February 2. This is the day, according to tradition, that they take the Christ doll from their manger and “dress” him. The Catholic tradition then passes through the Carnivals that will be celebrated in March, Lent and Ash Wednesday. This ends with Holy Week. Today, in the markets of the most traditional areas of Mexico, there are places where the Christ dolls are «dressed» as part of this popular festival. Source: Mexico Desconocido
