Trends in industry such as efficiency, automation, electrification, and environmental awareness will cause growth in production. An effective response will be needed to comply with quality and speed which is only possible with adequate machinery and equipment. It will also be necessary to shorten times for repairs and parts. This is an area of opportunity for industry in Mexico.
Since 2019, manufacturing origins of machinery have changed. Also, perspective has focused on local purchasing which has caused complications in this market. This includes looking to the media to buy necessary parts for machines from around the world.
Francisco Javier de la Iglesia Santiago, director of FAMA, a leading company in the distribution and service of CNC machine tools, announced that everything has to do with containers becoming more expensive. From Asia to North America, various companies have had to pay unplanned costs. Coupled with the trade conflict between the United States and China related to tariffs, this has meant that imports from China are no longer profitable. Mexico has positioned itself as the ideal point for the installation of companies that are not only suppliers for North America and Latin America but also for the entire world.
NASA and Boeing Go for a New Generation of Eco-Friendly Airplanes
By Dinorah Becerril
NASA has selected Boeing to move towards zero emissions by 2050 in the aviation industry. This will be a new generation of green aircraft. Boeing will lead the development and flight tests of a full-scale demonstration aircraft. The Transonic Truss-Braced Wing (TTBW) will seek more efficient fuel consumption through the Sustainable Flight Demonstrator program.
The TTBW project consists of an aircraft with extra-long thin wings, stabilized by diagonal struts. The design results in a more fuel-efficient aircraft than a traditional airliner due to a shape that creates less drag. This translates into lower fuel consumption. The goal is to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by up to 30%.
