On this occasion, we will give you a short walk along this street that has grown so much commercially in recent years. On Stirling Dickinson today, you can find anything you need, from fruits and vegetables, to feather dusters, to professional veterinarians. In addition, this small circuit offers a wide culinary choice both for tourists looking to get away from the center and for locals who want open and comfortable spaces where they can have a good time. This time the recommendations will be purely food, with a small initial deviation to whet your appetite.
At 1pm, the new tap room of Cervecería Allende opens, right next to the Hotel Real de Minas. The place is well-designed, and the space is cozy. They have a well-prepared menu in which they even recommend what foods go well with their draft beer. Although their light beers are not usually their strongest point, they are still of good quality, especially their wheat beer and brown ale. You can ask for your taster of five types to clear up doubts.
Already with a couple of beers to lighten the spirits, the decision is to choose one of the following three places. The first is Pork Belly, a place with a terrace and a simple design, and although its prices are not low—in fact, no recommendation here specializes in this important detail—the quality of its dishes justifies them. Their grill is excellent, but we highly recommend their brisket burger: smoked for 12 hours in the restaurant itself and cooked to the exact point, it is a perfect portion that will satisfy your appetite for meat. We recommend accompanying this burger with their house lager beer.
If what you prefer is more seafood, you can visit Mar 13 (formerly Muelle 13). This place already has history in our town and is highly recommended. The atmosphere is relaxed, but the size of the dishes, and their presentation, is a matter of consideration. Especially notable are its tostadas, such as the “Machita” tostada or the “Mi patio” tostada, although, if dazzling is what you were looking for, the seafood tower is delicious and aesthetically challenging—no lie. In these hot times, the dishes at Mar 13 are appetizing, light but satisfying, and even more so if they are accompanied with a simple, clear, cold, and refreshing light Mexican beer.
Our last recommendation is more focused on large groups that may have the afternoon free to sit down and enjoy in company. Tentempié al carbón will give you friendly service, a drinks bar stocked with everything a varied group of friends could ask for in an afternoon of drinks and laughter, and dishes prepared over charcoal that will liven up the meeting with simple but delicious flavors.
