The Sociedad Protectora de Animales de San Miguel de Allende’s annual Pet Food Money Bank fundraiser, our only major fundraiser of the year, is going on right now. Our goal is 250,000 pesos (about $14,000 USD), 100% of which will be applied to the annual cost of food for our resident and foster cats and dogs (an average of 100 in total). Because we lack sufficient storage space, we need to raise money to cover the annual cost of feeding our cats and dogs rather than seek donations of food. Among those who would benefit from your donation to our Pet Food Money Bank are our June Pets of the Month: Corina, Sandy, Bailey, and Sasha. If you are a cat whisperer and are up for a challenge, let us introduce you to Corina, a beautiful, 1-1/2-year-old Russian Blue female. Corina is timid, which makes her aggressive if you approach too closely. We know she will eventually learn to trust and will become the center of your life. Will you try?
Sandy has just celebrated her 1-year birthday. She is a tiny, confident lover who greatly enjoys human interaction. She will not, however, fit in well with other animals. She will save all her affection for you. Sandy is adorable. Come see her soon, before someone else snatches her up.
Bailey and Sasha came to the S.P.A. together on January 30, 2023. We rescued them both from Canine Control in the nick of time. Both about 1-1/2 years old, Bailey is medium/large and Sasha is medium sized. They’re an active, agile pair. Each one is very affectionate and loving. Bailey is a happy boy, friendly with people. He is very eager to go for a walk and is learning to be patient while waiting to be leashed and while being walked. He’s strong, lean, and muscular. Sasha looks forward to going for a walk and is also very strong. They both get excited when we spend time with them. After a little while, they calm down and are much easier to manage.
Adopt any of these Pets of the Month during June and receive a free adoption kit. Meet them and all our available cats and dogs at the S.P.A., Los Pinos 7, Monday through Saturday between 11 and 2, 415 152 6124 (masks required). Our adoption fee is 600 pesos. For dogs, it includes sterilization, all current vaccinations, deworming, and the leptospirosis booster. For cats, the fee includes sterilization, all current vaccinations, deworming, and the feline leukemia vaccine and booster.
