Yes, the crocodile is real

Videos of a crocodile flooded social networks about a month ago. The reptile had been spotted on the rocky banks of the Presa in the upper area of the city. However, it was not until November 19 and 20 that local authorities attempted to identify it, hoping to eventually move the reptile to a safe refuge. This task was undertaken by the Civil Protection office of the administration, and environmental expert Juan Gabriel Parada Jiménez. After two days, using kayaks, boats, and even a jet ski, they found it. It is a mature crocodile belonging to the Crocodylus moreletii species. The specimen had already made dens in a specific part of the stony area, and the news attracted many people. Because of the potential danger, and to avoid any accidents, citizens were asked not to approach. Eventually, following the protocols of the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection, the crocodile will be removed and taken to a safe haven.

A sweet treat for soccer fans

The municipal stadium was inaugurated 30 years ago, and in 2021 upgrades were made with a 23 million peso budget from public resources. But then the city council gave the loan and work to private entities.

When the new 2021-2024 administration took office, the loan was revoked and full control of the sports arena was given back to the city, effective the end of November. The symbolic keys were handed over to the city authorities, and at that time the decision was made that the stadium will become the venue for soccer finals of each league that organizes tournaments in San Miguel.

Among the completed upgrades are the installation of a synthetic patio, construction of three lanes for joggers, and stands with shade and a metal structure. The restrooms, lighting, toilets, dressing rooms, and the general area have also been upgraded.
