Matter and Memory

This project is a reflection on coding systems, language and memory, in this case, memory as a container of data. It is inspired by the magnetic core. computer memories of the 50’s and 60’s and the works of Anni Albers (Codes, 1962). During his residency at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, Muñoz created a graphic language based on binary code, using it to produce a series of textiles containing coded information as a way of generating textile memories. This work can be seen at Yam Gallery, Instituto Allende.
