According to Susan Page of the San Miguel Writers’ Conference, “Caja Negra is a genuinely professional theater, much needed in San Miguel.” San Miguel de Allende has always had a vibrant arts community, but the performing arts of San Miguel have been put on hold since March 2020, until now! Caja Negra will be San Miguel’s first Resident Repertory Acting company based at Caja Negra Performing Arts. Caja Negra offers all performing arts including theater, dance, song, music, and the spoken word. The residents of San Miguel have long been connoisseurs of the arts, so please come out and support live theater once again! Running in Repertory through December:
“House” starring Sebastian Vallin. A groundbreaking stand-up-sit-down-comedy-nightmare about a man named Victor. Victor drags his audience through his life, his fantasies, his desires, and his recent push to the edge as he searches for answers. Melissa Goldberg states, «Sebastian Vallin is Victor in HOUSE. A tour de force performance!»
“My Brilliant Divorce” starring Clara Dunham. Lois Reed raves, «Steller Performance! I urge everyone not to miss this play. Everyone, especially anyone who has gone through a divorce, will relate to it as it covers the emotional yo-yo of relationships with both humor and pathos.»
“Frankie & Johnny” starring Erik Zavala and Sofia Leal de la Rosa.
