LariFelPol, Blues and Soul Concert – International Jazz & Blues Festival

The International Jazz & Blues Festival presents the trio LariFelPol, from Mexico City, in this extraordinary concert. It is one of the most solid and representative groups of blues and soul in the country. The venue for the concert is the courtyard of Cultural El Nigromante, Bellas Artes, Hernández Macías 75, at 6pm this coming Saturday, June 25th.

LariFelPol band are: 

Lari Ruiz-Velasco is one of the most extraordinary and versatile guitar players in all of Mexico, garnering an international presence that clearly places his name among the guitar greats. Lari has worked on studio recordings and shared the stage with renowned artists such as Billy Branch (legendary harmonic player from Chicago), Olan Christopher (John Lee Hooker’s producer), Manhattan Transfer, and is currently part of the bands of Alfonso Andre (Caifanes), Alejandra Guzman, and Tio Gus, to mention a few. 

Fer Ruvel is an internationally acclaimed bass player, singer (the best male soul voice in Mexico), and composer known for his stylistic diversity that takes new and old covers to an exciting new level. The bass becomes an extension of his own body and soul and keeps flawless time with buoyant tones and bold solos. Fer has performed with Tio Gus, Los Mighty Calacas, Alejandra Guzman, HaAsh, Ximena Sariñana, and many others. 

Pablo Madrigal is a drummer and percussionist who studied in Havana, Cuba, at the National School of Art (ENA) and in Mexico at the National School of Music (UNAM). Pablo has collaborated with various artists, such as Cabezas de Cera, Ivan Barrera, Marìa Jose, Jahaziel Arrocha, Estramboticos, Pancho Lelo de la Rea, Electric Church, Yuka Danzas y Tambores Colombianos, and Mamselle Ruiz, to name a few.

This summer the festival will offer three concerts in July, with some artists presenting thematic concerts:  July 9, “Women in Jazz” with Nely Stanfield; July 14, “An Evening with Cole Porter, Irving Berling and Harold Arlen»; and on July 23, “Funk and Soul Night” with Karely Esparza.
