YAM Gallery goes to the Mexico City art fair

YAM Gallery will participate in the 18th edition of Zona Maco art fair at Centro Citibanamex from February 9 to 13, 2022, in Mexico City. The international art event welcomes more than 170 galleries and exhibitors from more than 25 countries around the world and brings together its four fairs simultaneously: Zona Maco Arte Contemporáneo, Zona Maco Diseño, Zona Maco Salón (dedicated to antiques and decorative arts), and Zona Maco Foto.

This is the seventh participation of the San Miguel based art gallery in this fair, and for the first time, YAM Gallery will be on the Main Section, which presents leading international galleries with pieces of the highest quality in painting, graphics, sculpture, installation, video and new media, from the most representative contemporary artists in the global scene.

For this edition, YAM Gallery selected the works of 4 contemporary creators: the Canadian San Miguel-based artist Adam Chamandy the Chilean sculptor Norton Maza, and 2 renowned Mexican artists, Germán Venegas and Cisco Jiménez. The gallery’s booth will showcase paintings, prints and sculptures, and will be attended by its director Adolfo Caballero.

Zona Maco art fair is the largest commercial event for the industry in Latin America. It is the rendez-vous no to miss for curators, collectors, gallerists and artists. But the week of the fair also is an extraordinary cultural happening, and a great moment to visit the vibrant artistic scene of Mexico City. Museum inaugurations, parallel fairs (such as Material and Salón Acme), talks, conferences, and of course, memorable parties, are organized all along the week. YAM Gallery also participates of this program and invites the public to visit the exhibition by Carlos Pez and Mónica Deutsch, in the trendy neighborhood of Roma Norte, on Calle Cozumel #34.

With its participation on Zona Maco, YAM Gallery consolidates its position on the international art scene. The gallery wishes to broaden the promotion of its artists, and widen the visibility of San Miguel de Allende as one of the important art scene of the country.
