I absolutely love walking the streets of this majestic town at sunset! I am truly blessed to be able to explore all the secrets of the streets in San Miguel de Allende. I partake in the festivities, explore the breathtaking architecture, see the hidden treasures such as hand carved doors and their antique key locks; taking leisurely walks in the parks, and taking long slow strolls home from my favorite restaurants after dinner. Many residents of San Miguel who live here full time do not have this luxury to explore and enjoy this incredible city. I was asked multiple times by many people to write an article elaborating on the bunion protocol. I was very pleased to finally meet many of the people reading my weekly articles in Atención and cater to their inquiries! I love input and writing for people who want more information about any specific area of alternative or complimentary medicine and the conjunctive therapies.
The bunion protocol is proven to be very effective for the clients who follow it until completion; attending all scheduled appointments and completing the advised corrections needed to support the therapy. I provide this therapy for men and women living in San Miguel. I also have clients visiting from other cities for my bunion protocol. People in their mid-thirties ranging to late eighties have come to me for help. The pain can be uncomfortable or excruciating, depending on the degree of severity. Each individual case is unique. I do have some very complicated cases that have already sought surgery for correction with no result, except for pain and disfigured feet. Don’t get me wrong, some surgeries are wonderful, but I have seen more bad outcomes than good. The recovery time from bunion surgery can take longer than the bunion protocol I offer.
Chiropathy retrains the components of the foot—ligaments, tendons, muscles, and the joints. Some people still require different shoes or orthotic corrections with this protocol. The patient and I also work on a new gait. To be honest, I have had only two people not complete their protocol because they were not patient enough to see it to the end. I opted to discharge one patient because this client went to an unqualified person trying to get bunion therapy cheaper. The unqualified therapist who tried to work on my patient’s bunion reversed two months progression with straight toes, resulting in a dislocated big toe after one visit at their home. The unqualified therapist has an office in their home. I will tell anyone interested in the bunion protocol that it is a three-month commitment to this particular therapy for mild to moderate cases. I do have clients with severe cases, and they notice improvements, although small. Severe cases may take a longer treatment plan, but that is how therapy works. All therapies are documented with photos and measurements to ensure patients can see their individualized progression with physical evidence.
Most of my clients are happy with their attained results and recommend me to others. The technical term is Chiropathy, but I am becoming known as the ¨Bunion Queen of San Miguel,¨ because of the positive feedback and referrals I have received. Although I do have some non-supporters, the patients, clients, and friends who have come to me and benefited from my work is overwhelming. I grew so fast with the support of these amazing people and I am looking forward to treating more members of the community! I am constantly donating services to people and animals in need. In short, San Miguel is a place to explore on foot. Unfortunately, not everyone has this ability. I am here to help anyone who is looking for an alternative therapy and would like to avoid surgery. In some cases, surgery is needed. More times than not, this bunion protocol can really make a positive change in an individual’s life—if you can commit to the three-month protocol. A person who is impatient or expecting a miracle in one or two months should not have this treatment. This therapy works on the hands and feet; however, I do want to advise it will not resolve any issue if the full therapy is not completed. It is not a therapy a lay person can perform because the protocol changes at various point during treatment. For example, when changing the protocol about a month into treatment, the initial pain the client presented with has subsided, but there is slight cramping of the muscles when the realignment begins. This is a great milestone for my clients; it is a sort of graduation, so to speak. I don´t believe in wasting money—every peso counts and quality care is provided in a quality hospital setting at La Joya Hospital here in San Miguel. Please feel free to contact me about this protocol if you would like an alternative to bunion correction surgery. Marie Oliveras DC, ACU, NP, N.R.C.P.T.
