Gift Ideas for the Animal Lovers in Your Life!

By Megan Gabel

Now that the major holidays are behind us, there are still other occasions worth commemorating. How about celebrating them with the gift of an “In Honor of” donation to the S.P.A.? It’s simple to arrange for an “In Honor of” donation as a birthday, anniversary, special day, or official holiday gift. It can also be a poignant way to honor a pet’s or person’s life or death. Your animal-loving friends and family members will appreciate the sentiment.

The Sociedad Protectora de Animales is the oldest no-kill animal shelter for cats and dogs in San Miguel. In existence since 1980, we feed, house, and care for our resident animals (like Tessie, Charlie, Ritz, and Aussie) while focusing on finding loving families for all of them. We have an on-site clinic, open to the public, which offers high-quality veterinary healthcare at a low cost. There are many ways you can help the S.P.A. and also make gift giving for any occasion easier!

An “In Honor of” donation can be completed with PayPal at our website https://www.spasanmiguel.org/fundraisers. It is shown about two-thirds of the way down the page. Other options for donating are listed on the same page. Once we receive notice of your donation, we will thank you and get the information we need to let the honoree know about your gift.

Also on our website check out some great T-shirts and caps, perfect gifts and San Miguel souvenirs for your animal-loving friends. They can be picked up at our office, located at Los Pinos 7, during regular office hours. If you need more information, please email info@spasanmiguel.org or call 415 152 6124.

Please think about helping the S.P.A. strive to find homes for our resident animals. The S.P.A. relies on donations from generous souls in this community and elsewhere (including the U.S. and Canada). Supporting the S.P.A. is a great way to make the gift giver, gift recipient, and the S.P.A. feel happy! Adopting a shelter animal saves two lives, the one that is adopted and the one we now have room to take in. There is never a shortage of homeless, needy animals for your donations to help.
