“Simplicity is not a simple thing.”—Charlie Chaplin
Words to live by.
Jóvenes Adelante students, staff, and board members thank our mentors, tutors, financial sponsors and supporters, and volunteers for lighting the way to a better future.
Give a scholarship and a computer; give an individual mentor; give a team of psychologist volunteers; give, deliver, or outsource auxiliary success and life skill workshops and classes; pay for professional credentialing and set up a graduate network that includes graduate mentors—to, on average, 125 students at a time. Sounds so simple. So obvious.
Education is key to long-term, transformed lives—such a simple idea.
The greatest gift of philanthropy provides an education that many cannot afford—the greatest promise of a new, near-term future for San Miguel de Allende; for Mexico, a new generation of university graduates living, breathing, being socio-economic mobile, and change.
In reality it is not simple at all—we would not be here if it were—but it is the essence of simplicity. That essence is the story of Jóvenes Adelante: our students, our graduates, our aspirants, our mission, our vision.
As 2021 closes and we celebrate the holidays—a year of adaptation, fear, hope, dark and light, we thank you for your support and wish you a 2022 that is as adventurous, exciting, and uplifting as the faces of our 2021 class and our incoming 2022 hopefuls still in the wings.
Our family of supporters make the simple possible. The essence of simplicity is to make it look simple; but in reality, it takes work and years of commitment and foundation. To be a part of that foundation, to financially support that vision and a student, to build the San Miguel of the future, to invest in the community of your first or second home, please visit jovenesadelante.org or contact donkrimn@jovenesadelante.org.
