Kitten Waterfall

By Jayn Corral

Have you ever seen or even heard of “Una Cascada de Gatos”? Not as grandiose or famous as Niagara Falls or Victoria Falls, but every bit as mighty, the Kitten Waterfall exists at the SPA and never fails to evoke squeals of delight from those fortunate enough to witness it.

It is most magnificent at breakfast time although it can occur any time the door to Kitten World opens. Each day upon arrival, volunteers prepare platters of soft food for the cats and kittens. It amounts to just about one tablespoon per cat, but it is the highlight of their day. They all know that when the “kitchen” door opens, their much-anticipated treat is forthcoming.

They get so excited that they not only run and tumble out the door, but they run back in and back out multiple times to make sure they get their fair share of the goodies. Sitting in the middle of the platter has become a favorite strategy for our expert diners. The hard part for us, the servers, is not to step on anyone.

Presley, Parker and Pierre, along with their sister, Perla, are young siblings among the waterfall gang. They were newborns at the SPA and are looking for more adventures in their forever homes. Other adorable kittens participating in the Cascada de Gatos are Sadie and Sara, also newborns when they arrived at the SPA.

Then there are the “tweens” as we affectionately refer to them because they no longer look like kittens but still act like and are kittens. Zander and Leo are great friends and love to wrestle.

Help these youngsters live the lives they deserve by adopting them and providing loving, caring homes. That will then make space so we can help others that need our help. The SPA has several young kittens, “tweens,” and older cats ready for forever homes. Check out our website at https://www.spasanmiguel.org/adopt-me-cats for the many cats and kittens needing loving forever homes.
