The Sociedad Protectora de Animales de San Miguel de Allende (The Society for the Protection of Animals), known as S.P.A., is holding its annual Pet Food Money Bank fundraiser. This is our only major fundraiser of the year and it starts now. Our goal: 250,000 pesos (about US$14,000). 100% of the funds raised will be applied to the cost of food for our resident and foster cats and dogs. S.P.A. houses and cares for an average of 100 animals. For more details, please see https://www.spasanmiguel.org/pet-food-money-bank or write info@spasanmiguel.org Please help!
Our May Pets of the Month (Sake, Angel, Marco, and Robin) are among those who will benefit from your donation to our Pet Food Money Bank. Sake is about 5-1/2 years old and had been in a loving home for 4-1/2 years when her owner became deathly ill and Sake needed a safe haven, as a result she came to S.P.A. She is a medium-sized, happy, friendly, playful dog. She’s so excited about going for a walk that she spins in circles when it’s her turn, tail wagging with the thrill of it all. She really likes getting personal attention, especially by having her head petted.
Angel is about 3 years old. She is a small/medium-sized, very sweet, calm dog. She walks well on leash and is friendly with people, but particularly with the dogs she likes. She is a really nice, gentle girl.
Marco is one of our youngest teens at almost 10 months old. He is a small, lean cat, mostly black, with white chest and paws. His white whiskers shine brightly against his black face. He is well known for expressing his opinion with a big boy meow and lots of attitude. Marco readily joins in a wrestling contest with his fellow teens. He loves to have fun, is sweet, and inquisitive.
Robin, now 5-1/2 years old, has blossomed into our most accomplished lap sitter. The minute a volunteer sits down on the floor she makes a beeline to the now available lap. She will share her territory with one other cat with the condition that she has to be closest to the visiting human. Robin is undemanding and full of love.
