At the end of this month of July 2022, we will celebrate one year of taking over the operation of the Atencion newspaper from the Biblioteca Publica de San Miguel…and what a year it has been! In these past 12 months, we have made significant investments to improve the operation and the quality of the newspaper, including:
• Partnering with Bajiogo to give a complementary copy of Atencion to each passenger arriving to SMA from the BJX, QRO, MEX airports
• Doubling the distribution points within SMA to purchase the newspaper
• Launched a new monthly “Atencion Bajio” edition delivered to the doorsteps of over 2,500 high net worth homes in Leon and Queretaro
• Created a new Atencion webpage now attracting significantly more views – over 30,000 / month
• Dramatically increased our social media presence to over 600,000 followers across multiple channels and over 3.6 million views per month
• Launched a new weekly “Atencion” radio show / podcast in Spanish to review local news stories and interview local
personalities
• Significantly increased the content writers / contributors and staff reporters
•And we are just getting started….many more initiatives are on the way in the coming weeks and months!!
