One of the most genuine ways to get to know a place is to try the typical gastronomy and, of course, that includes sweets and treats.
In San Miguel, there are many candy stores that you can find during a walk through the city center and the surrounding neighborhoods.
At first glance, you can count 7 traditional candy stores and regional sweets between the streets of Hidalgo, Canal, Umarán, Calzada de la Estación, Insurgentes and Avenida Guadalupe; some of them with more than one branch.
If you have come to San Miguel, surely you have heard about «the nun’s farts», well, this is one of the regional sweets that are characteristic of the city and in general of the Corazón region (Bajío).
You will also find wafers, jamoncillos, traditional liquors and more. Below you can see a list of the candy stores that are located in San Miguel:
Goretti Candy Store, Licorice, Poli Fiesta, Tumbagón, Téllez, El Papalote and Catrina.
