June is here! And with it the most fun party in San Miguel de Allende: the Desfile de los Locos, which this year will be held on Sunday, June 18, starting at 10 am, departing from the temple of San Antonio de Padua. The streets of San Miguel will be filled with color, joy, music and fun, where all spectators will laugh with the creative costumes of the «Cuadros de Locos».
This festival has its origins in 1934 when the market gardeners used to dress up with masks and palm hats to give thanks for the good harvests, while giving away fruit to invite people to the celebration; today they give away candy.
Don’t miss this fun party in honor of San Antonio de Padua, but don’t forget to cover yourself from the sun, drink water, have a good breakfast and enjoy yourself a lot.
