La Romería, Agroecological Art and Design Market

By Bernardo Moreno

Today we are recommending an event full of activities for children and adults. It is a new edition to the popular festival that will take place in the El Pavo Real del Campo vineyard, located at calle El Pavo Real 2 in the beautiful community of Sosnabar on June 17 and 18.

According to Marian Garcés, founder of the movement, “La Romería was born in the garage of La Cámara, a space for contemporary action. After a long pause it was reborn a few years ago as an itinerant project that manifests itself at every change of season or every time we are able.” There will be multiple activities, talks, and workshops organized by Analí Jaramillo. Some of them are: Flori Gamia by Jessica Martell, edible flowers for everyone; embroidery with recycled materials by Drifta; psychic protection by Dante; god’s eyes embroidery; cardboard painting made in San Miguel; and a talk about LGTBQ+ rights in San Miguel.

For those who want or need to balance body and mind, there is yoga. Interesting exhibitors will display products made free of animal cruelty and exploitation, such as Mielzana, vegan honey made with apples from Chihuahua; handmade jewelry; local and Tampico artists; natural and cured pulque from the Sierra de Santa Rosa; natural cosmetics; craft beer and wines; Ecobricks; and natural fabrics. There will be no shortage of tattoo artists.

Rousing us to dance will be DJs Guaguis, Alessandro Alviani, and Gruñi Soundsystem. We will have the pleasure of listening to the great guitarist Vladi Picazo and to Son Soledad’s son jarocho. Closing this great line-up is Aliguagua, renowned co-founder of Ultrasónicas, the Kumbia Queers, presenting her second solo album Menospausa.

Let’s support this effort promoting inclusion, cooperation, environmental awareness, and pure good vibes. More information is available at @anali.dice
