Merida:
Finally, the capital of the state of Yucatán, Mérida is famous for its colonial architecture, its gastronomy, and its proximity to important Mayan archaeological sites such as Chichén Itzá and Uxmal. Visitors can explore the city’s historic center, visit the Regional Museum of Anthropology, and enjoy local cuisine, including dishes such as cochinita pibil and lime soup.
