With its commitment to creating a competitive business ecosystem, the San Miguel Business Park (PESMA) organized the First Supplier Networking gathering. In an environment of dynamic interaction and camaraderie, over 40 representatives of supplier companies and six buyer companies participated. The event was held at the new Hotel Albor Tapestry Collection by Hilton in San Miguel de Allende. Hotel Administrative Director Lisset Cano, and Zonia Torres, promoter of the San Miguel Business Park, welcomed the attendees.
“This is the first supply event since the pandemic. It has been a great gathering, as important companies such as Langer Molds and Tools, Le Bélier, Stant, Hirschmann Automotive, Carcoustics, and MH Raicing are present. There are 18 companies in the industrial park, and the idea of this type of event is to provide solutions to the needs of these companies,” commented Cano. Torres noted that the objective of this event is also to encourage interaction between people. She said, “Beyond a highly standardized sales system, we want to count on people. The result has been interesting, because not only can the companies of the Polígono take advantage of this opportunity to locate services first-hand and directly contact the provider of the service or product, but also we are betting that among the established, quality companies with many years’ experience are opportunities to do business.”
Karen Martínez, purchasing representative for Hirschmann Automotive, said that these types of meetings are a good initiative. “Industry started up in San Miguel de Allende just a few years ago, and this event helps us get a lot closer to suppliers and let them know that we are here. Sometimes we struggle to find suppliers, and we have to look in other regions or larger cities,” she noted. Martínez added that the basic requirement for qualifying as a Hirschmann Automotive supplier is basically to be well established. “We require that legal documents be in order, [and need] attentiveness and patience, because some projects take time.”
Carlos Díaz is a sales representative of the Hydraulic Engineering and Service Center. He commented that the advantage of this event is being able to meet people and have more personal contact. “There is nothing like personal contact, which gives us the opportunity to introduce ourselves, build a closer relationship, and demonstrate our products and services. Unfortunately, many companies use telephone or email contact but tend not to reply, so this type of event should be more frequent,” he emphasized.

Torres said that this meeting aimed to create an ecosystem and an opportunity for the representatives of the companies to get to know each other. “Sometimes, because of day-to-day work, we don’t know what our neighbors are doing, so we source from outside. These types of meetings allow us to have more connection and interaction between companies,” she concluded.
