«Carlitos» did it again, now in Barcelona

Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz was proclaimed a champion in Barcelona after defeating the Greek, Stefanos Tsitsipás.

After his absence in Monte Carlo, the current number two in the ranking, Carlos Alcaraz reappeared to play in the Barcelona Open, an important and historical tournament, in the ATP 500 category, where he would also play as a local player.

Alcaraz defeated Stefanos in two straight sets by a score of 6-3 and 6-4 without many problems. It is worth mentioning that «Carlitos» became a two-time champion of the Barcelona Open, after winning the tournament against Pablo Carreño Busta in 2022.

To achieve the championship, Alcaraz had to leave several tennis players behind. In the round of 32, he eliminated Portugal’s Nuno Borges 6-3, 6-1. After Borges, it was the turn of Roberto Bautista Agut, whom he defeated by 6-3 and 7-5. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Davidovich Fokina by 7-6 and 6-4, and in the semifinals, he faced Daniel Evans in a match that ended with a double 6-2. In the final, Alcaraz defeated Tsitsipas by two straight sets, the Spaniard did not lose a single set in the entire tournament.

After winning the Conde de Godo Trophy, «Carlitos» is again approaching the number one position in the world ranking, which still belongs to Djokovic.

What a level for Carlitos!

Manchester derby in the FA Cup!

For the first time in the history of the oldest tournament in world soccer, the famous and much-desired FA Cup in England, the first to reach the Cup final was Manchester City. This team easily defeated Sheffield United in the semifinals by a score of 3-0.

The last ticket to the final was disputed between the «red devils» Manchester United and the surprise of the tournament, Brighton. In the 90 minutes of regular time, they were unable to do any damage, so the match went to a penalty shootout.

The penalty shootout ended up being dramatic, as they went to the seventh round (already in sudden death) when the Englishman Solly March (Brighton player) missed the goal, which Victor Lindelof (Manchester United defender) would take advantage of. Thus the «red devils» reached the final against their fierce rival Manchester City.

The team coached by Pep Guardiola is the clear favorite to win, but in this kind of match, (derby or classic) anything can happen.

The final will be on Saturday, June 3, at the famous, mythical Wembley Stadium.

Who will be the FA Cup champion in this derby?
