Alex de Miñaur is the Mexican Tennis Open champion

The Australian tennis player Alex de Miñaur was crowned champion of the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis 2023 against the American Tommy Paul in three sets with a partial of 3-6, 6-4, and 6-1 in the new GNP Arena of Acapulco. 

In an intense match lasting two hours and 27 minutes, Alex de Miñaur was crowned champion for the first time on Mexican soil, achieving the seventh title of his career. 

The Mexican Tennis Open, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, was held at the GNP Arena at the Mundo Imperial Acapulco. Due to various circumstances, several figures, such as Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipás, and Cameron Norri, dropped out of the Acapulco tournament. This turn of events caused sadness among the 90,000 fans who attended the AMT. In spite of this, the fans enjoyed this great tournament of the «white sport.»

F1 season begins

The Formula 1 season started with the Bahrain Grand Prix, full of many emotions and surprises that this sport’s fans love to experience. 

Red Bull Racing had the perfect race, achieving places one and two. World champion Max Verstappen won in Bahrain, followed by Mexico’s Sergio «Checo» Perez, who took second place. Spanish driver Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) completed the podium group, taking a historic third place in his 22nd season as a Formula 1 driver.

This result in Bahrain puts Red Bull as the leader in the constructors’ world championship, followed by Aston Martin and Mercedes. Max Verstappen leads the drivers’ world championship, followed by Perez and Alonso. 

This season excites all fans of the highest category of motorsport, especially Spanish-speaking fans, who hope to see the Mexican Sergio Perez or the Spanish legend Fernando Alonso and his famous «Plan» triumph in 2023.

Diego Cocca’s first call-up with «El Tri» has arrived

Diego Cocca, the new Mexican National Soccer Team coach, announced his first list of called-up players to face the March FIFA date and debut as coach of «El Tri» in the Nations League against Surinam on March 23. The team will face Jamaica three days later at the Azteca Stadium on March 26. 

Cocca announced the list of players who will represent Mexico at the High Performance Center (CAR) of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF):

A new stage begins!

Alexa Grasso, the first Mexican UFC champion

Alexa Grasso from Jalisco became the first Mexican UFC champion after defeating Valentina Shevchenko.

The Mexican put her name in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) history books after defeating Shevchenko at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, United States. 

Alexa joins Brandon Moreno and Yair Rodriguez as the Mexican champions in the world’s biggest mixed martial arts company. 

Shevchenko arrived as the great favorite against the Mexican; however, the tapatía surprised everyone with her work above the octagon and was crowned flyweight champion without injury. 

«In Mexico, we have a great seedbed of warriors, of warriors with heart, and we are proving it,» said Alexa in a press conference. 

Alexa Grasso is the Mexican who puts our flag at the top with her courage and determination to always go for victory.
