Valentine’s Day

In third century Rome, Emperor Claudius II decided to prohibit the marriage of young people. Singles without family were better soldiers if they did not have sentimental or partner ties. Also, Christianity was banned in Rome. A priest named Valentine considered the prohibition of marriage a mistake. He decided to skip this order and secretly marry the young lovers. When the emperor found out about this rebellious act, he sentenced the priest Valentine to death on February 14, 270. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. That is why Valentine’s Day is celebrated every year on February 14.

Nearshoring, the trend in Mexico

The Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP) reports that Mexico has attracted 75 to 100 Canadian, Chinese, Korean and Japanese companies that have implemented or expanded operations. Nearshoring has brought more than 19 million dollars of investment to Mexico in the last year. However, not all regions of the country have benefited from nearshoring. According to CBRE data, the Monterrey area accounts for 50% of the investments, followed by Saltillo with 11%. Mérida is at 6%, the capital of Chihuahua and Ciudad Juárez add up to 7%. National Meeting of Scouts in San Miguel

San Miguel de Allende hosted the national meeting of scouts «Fuego Nuevo 2023». This event was sponsored by the Municipal Administration. The rally was Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29. More than 450 children and young people participated from all of Mexico. It was highlighted by the contingent of the Querétaro Province of the Mexican Scouts Association. The Caminantes Ragnar Lodbrock Scouts of San Miguel de Allende hosted. Children and young people from all over the country came for this first meeting in the historic center.

Super Bowl LVII

Super Bowl 2023 will pit the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles against the AFC winner Kansas City Chiefs. It will be played at the Arizona Cardinals’ State Farm Stadium in Glendale. This is the third time this stadium has hosted the event, first, seeing the New York Giants win over the New England Patriots in 2008. Then, the Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks in 2015. State Farm Stadium has capacity for 78,600 fans. Super Bowl 2023 will take place on Sunday, February 12. Kickoff is at 6:30pm Eastern time US. (5:30pm in Mexico.)
