April 30, Children’s Day
In 1954, the General Assembly of the United Nations recommended that as of 1956, a Universal Children’s Day be instituted in all countries. However, in Mexico, since 1924, April 30 was already designated as Children’s Day. General Álvaro Obregón was President of the Republic and José Vasconcelos was Minister of Public Education then. This decision was made to reaffirm the rights of children and create a happy childhood for full and integral development as human beings.
One of the world’s best dancers to perform in Guanajuato
For the first time in Latin America, the dancer and actor Isaac Hernández will present his work «Expresiones: Tradition, Creativity, Innovation» in Guanajuato. The show will be at the Roberto Plasencia Bicentennial Theater of the FORUM Cultural on July 1 and 2. It will include a selection of classical ballet, contemporary, tap, and urban dance pieces. Hernández is considered one of the best dancers worldwide and has received numerous awards, including the «Benois de la Danse,» the highest prize awarded by the International Dance Association of Moscow.
UNAM San Miguel de Allende Campus to conclude construction work in May
UNAM arrived in San Miguel de Allende 15 years ago, and it will finally open its doors in mid-year to start the 2023-2024 school year. In recent days, Mayor Mauricio Trejo, together with the director of ENES Leon, Laura Susana Acosta Torres, and the head of the Campus, Javier de la Fuente Hernandez, visited the construction site to review the progress, where they observed that the four buildings are almost ready. They consist of the general access, classrooms, a workshop/laboratory, and a school canteen.

Operísima México presents “La Bohème” by Giacomo Puccini
La Bohème is an opera in four acts with music by Giacomo Puccini and libretto in Italian by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, who simplified and combined the different episodes of the serialized novel “Scenes of Bohemian Life,” by Henri Murger, published over five years (1845-1849) in the newspaper” El Corsario.” The opera reflects the composer’s experiences during the years he spent as a student at the Milan Conservatory, where he shared a room with Pietro Mascagni. On April 25, 26, 27, and 28, at 7 pm, a concert version with scenic movements will be presented at Casa Europa, under the musical direction of Rogelio Riojas Nolasco. FIEXPO Workshop & Technical Visit and Motivation Luxury Summit for the first time in Mexico
During the Tianguis Turístico México 2023, Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo and Secretary Juan José Álvarez Brunel, together with national event organizers, announced the FIEXPO Workshop & Technical Visit and Motivation Luxury Summit and the XXX National Meetings Industry Congress of the Mexican Meetings Industry Council, important events for the Meetings Industry. The FIEXPO Workshop & Technical Visit and Motivation Luxury Summit will be held for the first time in Mexico, and the first venue will be in Guanajuato city. The event will take place this year from October 2 to 4.
