Guanajuato Capital and San Miguel de Allende are nominated for the Condé Nast 2023 Readers Choice Awards 

In its 36th edition, the magazine tells its readers in the cities category— to “think about the last time you were in Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende, and rate it between bad and outstanding in several categories. These include places of interest and landscapes, arts and culture, local cuisine/dining options, friendliness, transportation (how easy is it to get around by car, bus, taxi, bike, train), shopping, outdoor activities, accessibility, and hotels and resorts. Santa Cruz del Valle del Maíz Festival

El Valle del Maíz is one of the oldest neighborhoods in San Miguel. It is a Chichimeca indigenous community full of flavor and traditions. The La Santa Cruz Festival stands out. Every May, a 13-day celebration is organized. Many festivities, with various religious activities such as masses, prayers, pilgrimages, and cultural activities take place. It begins this Wednesday, May 17, and continues through the month with different celebrations in communities and neighborhoods of San Miguel.

National Cheese and Wine Fair 2023 in Querétaro

From May 26 to June 11, the National Cheese and Wine Fair takes place. This event brings together renowned producers who, through a series of workshops and events, will present their artisan gastronomic products. The festival will take place at Parque la Pila. This space is only 700 meters from the main square of the Magical Town of Tequisquiapan in Querétaro. This year, Italy will be the guest country. Renowned artists will exhibit their work, and several spaces will showcase paintings, photography, and sculpture.

What is Beyond Water?

Beyond Water is an international event that invites reflection on Water Sustainability, calling on various organizations to share experiences, learn about new technologies applicable to the sector, and present successful projects. The World Heritage City of San Miguel de Allende will host Beyond Water 2023 on May 31 and June 1 and 2. Many participating countries are pioneers in the care and management of water. These include Israel, Spain, the United States, Colombia, and France. 

Parade of the Crazies (San Pascual Baylón)

This May 21, in honor of San Pascual Baylón, will be the Parade of the Crazies. Three groups will participate, with six cars each and a maximum of 100 people per group. The first group will leave at 10am from the San Antonio church. It will pass through Callejón de San Antonio, Ancha de San Antonio, Zacateros, Canal, Hernández Macías, and Insurgentes. The second group will leave at 10:45am and will pass through Umarán, San Pedro, San Antonio Abad, Insurgentes, and the corner of Insurgentes and Hernández Macías. There, it will meet the first group. The third group will leave at 11am from Calzada de la Aurora and will pass through Hidalgo and Insurgentes, where it will meet the other group.

DHL invests 120 million pesos to expand operations at Querétaro Airport

The parcel and logistics company has experienced significant growth in the country and seeks to take advantage of the strategic location of the airport to increase its cargo capacity and improve operational efficiency.

The investment will include the construction of a new distribution center and an aircraft maintenance hangar, as well as the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment and technology to strengthen the security and speed of shipment processing.

With this expansion, DHL expects to strengthen its position in the Mexican market and improve its ability to meet the growing demand for logistics and e-commerce services in the region.

DHL’s investment is also a boost to the local economy as it is expected to create jobs and encourage business development in the area.
