World Economic Forum 2023
War, food, and energy crises comprise the themes of the meeting. The event will feature the participation of key heads of state and government as well as various geo-economic and geopolitical discussions. Under the theme of «cooperation in a fragmented world,» the next edition of the forum (to be held in Davos, Switzerland, from January 16 to 20) will address the current energy and food crises in the context of a new energy, climate, and nature system. It will also look at the state of the current industry under a new system to leverage frontier technologies for innovation and private sector resilience.
100% Hotel Occupancy
From Friday, December 30, 2022, to Sunday, January 1, 2023, the hotel guild counted 100% occupancy of available rooms in the entire range of hotels from executive to grand tourism and boutique. In economic terms, over 500 million pesos (US$502,159,377.12) were generated in restaurants, handicraft stores, tourist service providers, and other commercial and family businesses, which increased their sales during this weekend.
Writers Festival 2023
It will take place from February 13 to 17 at the Hotel Real de Minas. This year the festival offers conferences, lectures, and workshops, where participants will decide which events and workshops and when they wants to attend. Municipal Government Facilitates Payment of Property Taxes by 2023
Without an increase in the cost of the property tax payment and with a 15% discount during January, the Municipal Government facilitates the payment for this year 2023. So that taxpayers do not have to wait in line and their payment is reflected immediately, this time the online payment is available through the web page: www.sanmigueldeallende.gob.mx/pago-de-predial, where the process is shown step by step to make the payment from any place and at any time without having to go to any payment site. At this same website, you can consult the amount to be paid this year and also from previous years.
Casa de Europa Mexico Presents
At the beginning of the year, Casa de Europa Mexico presents two exhibitions with a wide range of international artists: ensembles by artists Paolo del Gallo and Esteban Fuentes de Maria, which starts on January 19; and the collective of artists with coincidences, «Creating a world of differences is belonging to the world,» with Jean Yves Drouineau, Fedérico Correa, Bea Oxenberg, E C Bell, Marcelo Wong, Volker Kühn, Fernando Vignoli, and Luc Dragtwa from January 18 to February 25, Monday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm. Pet Sterilization Days
The feline sterilization days are free and will take place on January 14 and 15, at 15 Santa Julia Street, Colonia Santa Julia. Each person can bring as many kittens as they wish to sterilize; the only thing requested is their commitment to attend. It is an excellent opportunity to sterilize the kittens that are running around without an owner—we probably can’t take each one to our home, but we can prevent more kittens from suffering. The canine sterilization day is scheduled for the 13th, with a cost of 450 pesos, at 11 Pino Street, in the San Martin neighborhood.
Food Festival is Back
The Food in Film Festival celebrates the juxtaposition of culinary and cinematic expression by screening food-related films along with catered events sponsored by highly rated local chefs/restaurants. Our sixth annual festival will take place on February 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19, at the Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramírez El Nigromante. This year we are proud to feature the Latin American premiere of the independent documentary film “Heartbeat” as our opening film, along with a lineup of films celebrating the biggest game changers in the culinary world.
