Did you know there is a pyramid in Queretaro? It is known as the El Cerrito pyramid and is one of the most unknown treasures in the center of Mexico. Its top has a splendid colonial structure. Toltec, Chichimeca, Purépecha, and Otomi vestiges have been found at this archaeological site.

In pre-Hispanic times, the Cerrito functioned as a Tollán. This was a religious and political center that was venerated by local cultures, as well as Teotihuacanos, Toltecs, Chichimecas, Otomi, and Tarascans. The top of the pyramid was modified in 1887 with an eclectic architectural structure known as El Fortin.

Visit it in Hidalgo s/n, Col. El Pueblito, Querétaro.
