Leticia Fernandez de Noyola has been the president of Cruz Roja San Miguel de Allende for nine years. She started as a volunteer lady 19 years ago, then became coordinator and then part of the Board. In addition to her time and dedication to the Red Cross, Leticia is interested in art. She studied Art and Restoration at the Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro, in Florence, Italy. 

How would you describe yourself in three words? 

Enterprising, sensitive, and human.

“We Are the World” by U.S.A. for Africa.

What kind of publication would you be on the cover of?

Any publication about women entrepreneurs.

What do you do for fun?

Hang out with my family.

What inspires you?

Living with people who care and organize to support a good cause.

What is your ideal vacation plan?

To visit places that I find interesting, even new places.

What are you most grateful for in life?

My life and the place where I live.

What is your favorite dessert? From where? 

Chocolates.

What is your favorite bad word?

Pinche, because it defines good and bad things.

Why live in San Miguel?

It is a small-town style city with a lot of cultural activity and community benefits.

Tequila or mezcal? Where? 

Mezcal, preferably at my house.

Taco, torta, tamale? Where? 

Taco, in a fondita or market.

Which public person would you not let in your house?

Anyone who is a simulator.

If you were able to change anything in the world, what would it be?

Bad governments.

How do you contribute to make San Miguel a better place to live? 

By trying to help alleviate human pain.

What does it mean to you to be an “expatriate / responsible citizen” of San Miguel?

The opportunity to fall in love with a town that welcomes you with open arms.

What would you recommend to someone who is considering moving to San Miguel?

To take advantage of the opportunity to live simply by supporting their fellow man.
