People who change willingly or out of obligation. 

What do you value most in a person?

Their silences.

What is your ideal vacation plan?

Anything, but longer than two weeks. 

What do you appreciate most in life?

The freedom I enjoy. I know it’s a privilege that I received completely randomly. So I am thankful… for life.

What is your favorite dessert? From where? 

At the Restaurant, there is a delicious caramel sundae.

What’s your favorite bad word?

Saperlipopette.

Why live in San Miguel?

Why not?

Tequila or mezcal? Where? 

Tequila, at a friend’s house.

What public person would you not let in your house?

A famous drug dealer, how scary!

If you were able to change anything in the world, what would it be?

I would ban war. But I don’t know how I would do it. 

How do you contribute to make San Miguel a better place to live? 

I have been involved in cultural promotion for more than 15 years. Cultural practice is a human right recognized by the UN. It can change people’s lives. It can change a community.

What does it mean to you to be an “expatriate / responsible citizen” of San Miguel?

What would you recommend to someone considering a move to San Miguel?

Learn Spanish.

What do you think makes San Miguel a unique and special city? 

Without a doubt: its architecture. I don’t think the city would have much appeal without its beautiful streets and historic buildings. 

What worries you most about the future of San Miguel?

The lack of water, the loss of natural spaces, the mismanagement of garbage.

What excites you most about the future of San Miguel? 

The upcoming rainy season.
